2021 NHL Draft Results: Complete List Of Picks For First Round, Live Updates, Trades, More

The 2021 NHL Draft will take place virtually at NHL Network’s studios at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2 on Friday night. The first round will be Friday while Rounds 2-7 will take place on Saturday afternoon.

The Buffalo Sabres enter the draft with the No. 1 overall pick and also picked up the No. 14 pick in a trade involving D Rasmus Ristolainen and the Flyers earlier in the day. Buffalo is expected to be choosing between the two top prospects out of University of Michigan: D Owen Power and C Matthew Beniers. It would seem the Sabres are more likely to opt for Power after the Ristolainen deal, but we’ll see which direction they go in with C Jack Eichel’s future also in limbo.

The expansion Seattle Kraken will select No. 2 overall after picking their roster from 30 NHL teams on Wednesday night. The Kraken would be best served by having Beniers drop to them at No. 2, providing the franchise with a future top-line center.

Here we’re going to be tracking each pick in the first round and will update you on all the latest trades:
