Eric Stonestreet tore the papers after many hates came to say he is “too old” to be engaged. The 49-year-old comedian engaged to his 42-year-old fiancée. Eric Stonestreet and his girlfriend Lindsay had started dating five years ago.
The Modern Family star announced he was engaged to her pediatric nurse girlfriend Lindsay Schweitzer. The couple shared sweet photos on Instagram while smiling from ear to ear as they show off Lindsay’s gorgeous oval-shaped engagement ring.
The star joked in the caption: “She said, ‘She’d have her people call my people.’” The post was welcomed by support from fans and celebrity friends. However, haters had been seen pointing that he is too old to be engaged. An online user wrote, “I don’t get it? Is his daughter getting married? What is the event?”
After some days, the actor repurposed the same photos with a filter that had edited Lindsay’s appearance to add wrinkles in order to make her look older.

Eric Stonestreet and Girlfriend Lindsay’s Engagement
Eric Stonestreet again shared the photos of his engagement to his girlfriend, Lindsay Schweitzer, after adding some oldness filters, captioning: “Apparently a lot of people think I look too old, as a 49-year-old man, to be engaged to my almost 42-year-old fiancé. Look, she can’t help that she looks so great at 42 and I can’t help that I apparently look like her grandad so, I fixed it for everyone.”
Following the comedian’s epic burn, commenters were quick to support him. Modern Family co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson quipped, acknowledging Ed O’Neill’s and Sofia Vergara’s characters in the hit ABC show, wrote: “I assume these are the same people who love Jay & Gloria’s relationship. Which is where YOU got the idea of having a younger spouse, right?”
Eric Stonestreet and Lindsay Schweitzer have been linked together after they first met each other at a charity weekend in Kansas City in 2016. Eric has spoken about his chemistry with Lindsay in the past, admitting to Ellen DeGeneres in 2017 that she “calms my nerves” because “I’m a very high-strung person.”
The Emmy award-winning actor said, “You can tell, right?” before jokingly shouting at a woman in the audience: “What are you looking at, ma’am?! My nurse girlfriend will take care of you.”
